The Billy Graham Library and Graham Family Homeplace
Journey of Faith, is a 40,000-square-foot experience where you’ll discover the Life and Legacy of America’s Pastor. Designed to reflect Billy Graham’s journey from a humble farm boy to an international ambassador of God’s love, the barn-shaped building is situated on 20 landscaped acres, only miles from where Billy Graham grew up in Charlotte, N.C. Retrace Billy Graham’s dynamic journey through stunning multimedia presentations, interactive kiosks, photos, and memorabilia.
Tour the home Billy Graham lived in from age nine until he left for college. Meticulously restored using 80 percent of the original materials, the Graham family homeplace will give you an intimate look at Billy Graham’s roots.
You can then browse Ruth’s Attic Bookstore. This unique bookstore has gifts, Bibles, and Christian classics, including books written by Graham family members.
Allow approximately 2 hours to tour both the Library and the Homeplace.
Cost – $10 no admission cost for this trip (donations welcome and accepted), ($10 transportation fee per person)
Tuesday, October 29th, 2024 – Leave hotel at 9:30am, return to hotel at 1:00pm
Chef Alyssa’s Kitchen
Join us for a morning of cooking with our own personal Chef!! We will work in groups of 4 to prepare a delicious meal, Southern Fall Delight. This includes braised short ribs, Butternut Squash Grits, Sauteed Greens with Roasted Garlic, and Apple Galette Pastry with Cinnamon Chantilly Cream (the menu may change slightly due to the availability of ingredients). Beer, wine, Coke products, and La Croix are available for purchase, filtered water stations are available at no cost. Gluten-free and vegetarian options with advance notice.
IMPORTANT – You must be age 21+ to participate in this event.
This event is limited to 25 registrants. Register early. Once the class is full, registration will be closed.
Allow approximately 2-1/2 hours for this event. Cost – $90 (Class fee $80, transportation fee $10 per person)
Wednesday, October 30th, 2024 – Leave hotel at 9:45am, return to hotel at noon
Museum of Illusions – Charlotte
Prepare to be mesmerized!! Enter the fascinating world of illusions where nothing is ever quite as it seems. Experience the unbelievable here as the exhibits offer interactive, interesting fun. The exciting collection of perspective-changing rooms, bewitching installations, and captivating images will keep you enthralled!!!
Allow approximately 60-90 minutes to complete the tour.
Cost – $19.20 per person, group rate. Ages 4 and under free, ages 5+ pay group rate.
(No transportation fee, the museum is located across the street from the Westin Hotel and we will walk)
Thursday, October 31st, 2024 – Leave hotel at 12:45pm, return to hotel at 3:30pm.
Dover Vineyards Winetasting
We will travel to Dover Farm Vineyards for a Wine Tasting. Dover Vineyards strives to produce a wine that is as natural and delicious as possible. We believe that a good wine reflects the community and environment that produces it. Enjoy an afternoon relaxing and sampling some of their many wines. For those of you who do not drink wine, craft sodas and Kombucha are also available. You may order a personal cheese tray with the purchase of a drink choice.
Allow approximately 2 hours for this event. All ages are welcome.
Cost – Choose from the menu below,
– Traditional Tasting: 7 wines: red, white, and rose $15 per person
– Sweet and Fizzy Tasting: 4 wines: sweet and fizzy $10 per person
– Craft Sodas and Kombucha $5 per person
– Optional Cheese Tray Snack $8 per person (must be selected on registration form)
